  5. If you are not familiar with WHOIS/NICNAME service from the NIC, see
  6. rfc:rfc954.txt for more details.  Basically the WHOIS/NICNAME server
  7. provides a directory listing of MILNET/ARPANET users.  A user program
  8. is needed at the site wishing to access this server.
